There is much work to be done for the homeless, children and disabled. We at The Oberoi Group have a host of initiatives for the community. The causes we work with are often directly relevant to local needs. The issues we attempt to address are diverse. There are many examples but some are particularly poignant.
At Trident Gurgaon we work with the KC Mahindra Education Trust to provide opportunities for educating young girls. Once a week the hotel provides lunch for a school of 300 and team members from the hotel teach under privileged children at the local ‘Happy School’.
On the birth anniversary of our founder Chairman, hotels take on many acts of good work. At the Oberoi, Cecil we organise an Annual Blood Donation Camp with the Red Cross. The Oberoi, Bangalore we support the NGO, Cheshire Home, and host an annual art auction with Concern India Foundation Art to raise money for projects like child education and the provision of drinking water for remote villages in Karnataka.
At Maidens Hotel, Delhi community involvement is illustrated in many ways such as distribution of food packages for children at ‘Mother Teresa and Palnaa’. Similar projects are undertaken at The Oberoi Udaivilas and Trident, Agra among other hotels.
Our unwavering support for local communities is something we intend to continue with and expand on. We welcome the support of our staff whose feedback has illustrated how community involvement has helped them think about their lives, work and commitment to a better India.
